The Canberra Queanbeyan Poultry Club proudly announces our annual pure breed sale to be conducted in conjunction with our annual show.

Viewing times: 9.30 am - 11 am
Sale starts: 11 am - 12.30 pm
Where: Queanbeyan Showground

BUYERS' INFORMATION

Only cash will be accepted on the day. No EFTPOS, credit cards or cheques.

Birds may be inspected between 9.30 am and 11 am.

No sales are permitted before the 11 am start.

Buyers are responsible for bringing suitable containers for their new poultry. Bags are not acceptable.

All purchases must be collected by 1 pm on the day.

Buyers will need their receipt to remove their purchases from the shed. A club steward will assist you to collect your purchases.

A list of the poultry booked in for sale will be provided closer to the sale date. A catalogue will be available for download from this page.

Free parking is available inside the showground.

Refreshments available.

SELLERS' INFORMATION

This is a private treaty sale only. It is not an auction or Helmsman sale.

Pen fee is $5 per bird. The fees must be paid with your entries. There are a limited number of pens available and you must pre-book (see: How to book your entries).

You will receive a vendor number and a sticker for you to wear for identity purposes. We recommend you wear the sticker so that buyers can easily find you.

As there is no commission, all transactions are strictly between the buyer and the seller. The club does not provide brokering services.

Any birds not sold on the day must be collected by 1.30 pm.

The poultry shed will be between 8 am and 9.30 am for you to pen your birds. Penning will close at 9.30 am. Club volunteers may be available to assist with the penning process.

No sales are permitted before the 11 am start.

A cage tag will be provided for your pens. You must fill out all the details (price, breed name, sex, colour, age and your vendor number). You are solely responsible for the accuracy of the information. No other pen tags will be permitted.

This sale is not intended for the meat bird buyer. If pen space is becoming limited, male birds penned without a female may not be accepted.

Any birds that are obviously not pure breed or that display signs of illness or lice/mites will not be accepted into the sale.

HOW TO BOOK YOUR ENTRIES

Cost: $5.00 per bird. A pen is limited to three birds. There are no commissions payable.
